NEGROS OCCIDENTAL UNDERGOES SGLG NATIONAL EVALUATION

The SGLG National Validators conducted an evaluation and on-site assessment of the Province of Negros Occidental’s performance in ten governance areas such as Financial Administration and Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sensitivity, Health Compliance and Competitiveness, Sustainable Education, Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety, Peace and Order, Environmental Management, Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts, and Youth Development.
Gov. Lacson said that the Seal of Good Local Governance is not just an award or distinction but a symbol of the province’s steadfast dedication to providing relevant and outstanding public service by promoting transparency, ensuring accountability, and championing the core values of good governance.
The governor expressed his heartfelt gratitude to DILG for fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence in public service and local governance.
He also lauded the Capitol offices and employees for putting in the hard work and attention to detail in the anticipation of the SGLG visit.
“Through the sincere and dedicated efforts of our various departments and offices, the Provincial Government was awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance last year. Inspired by this recognition, our offices have worked diligently to implement policies and elevate our initiatives to better meet the needs of our constituents. These efforts have resulted in significant progress across all facets and indicators of good governance,” he said.
Moreover, the validation was attended by DILG Region VI Director Juan Jovian E. Ingeniero, DILG Negros Occidental Provincial Director Teodora Sumagaysay, SP Board Members Jeffrey Tubola, Rommel Debulgado, Rita Gatuslao, Andrew Montelibano, Manuel Frederick Ko, Valentino Miguel Alonso, Mayvelyn Madrid and Richard Julius Sablan, Acting Provincial Administrator Atty. Alberto P. Nellas, Jr., Capitol department and office heads and employees, and representatives from other government agencies.
