THE 34th Negros Trade Fair officially opened at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City on September 24.

Leading the opening rites dubbed as “Arima” were Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer. It was participated by members of the Provincial Board, and officers and members of the Association of Negros Producers (ANP).

The Negros Trade Fair is the longest running provincial trade fair being held annually. It brings the best of Negrense cuisine, arts and crafts to Manila.

A total of 64 exhibitors, including producers and local government units, as well as the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Science and Technology joined the five-day event.

Themed “Timeless Traditions,” the 34th NTF focused on selling Negrense products and also on promoting Negros itself by emphasizing the province’s culture, arts, tradition, and lifestyle.

“The trade fair served as a vehicle to many SMEs to showcase the best of the best, leading them to national exposure,” Michael Edward Claparols, chairperson of the 34th NTF said.

Lacson hailed the ANP and the exhibitors for the ceaseless success of the trade fair.

“I am a believer of the Negrense talent and products, and I know that with proper opportunities and innovation, our products can compete both in the local and global markets,” he said.

“Our very rich tradition and history give our present products the character that sets them apart from the rest,” he added.

Ferrer thanked every Negrense who did an extra mile in helping Negros deliver quality products that resonate with the stunning lifestyle and culture of the Negrenses.

Negros products have been a by-word for delectable tastes.

Our lifestyle is remarkable. People visit Negros to enjoy the luxury of everything from food, beaches, hotels, other tourist destinations and more importantly, the Negrense brand of hospitality that commonly wears a smile.

Negros should continuously seize opportunities that will give rise to greater welfare.

“I congratulate everyone for their efforts in making this 34th Negros Trade Fair a remarkable exhibition,” he said.
