Representatives from various LGUs of Negros Occidental attended today’s orientation on Energy Programs of the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Investment Promotion Office (IPO) Workshop on Harmonizing the Energy Virtual One-Stop Shop (EVOSS) process flow, held at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City.
The activity aims to accelerate energy project development by improving coordination, efficiency, and compliance in the permitting process, while supporting the provincial government’s energy security and sustainability goals.
The activity was organized by the Provincial Consultant on Energy and Environment Concerns in collaboration with the DOE and the Negros Association of Chief Executives, led by its president, Cadiz Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr.
EVOSS is a Philippine government online system under the DOE designed to streamline and expedite the approval process for new energy projects by centralizing permit applications and information.
As mandated by Republic Act No. 11234, it acts as a single portal for applicants and agencies, promoting transparency, accountability, and ease of doing business in the energy sector.
Gov. Bong Lacson said that Negros Occidental is proud to be among the first provinces to undertake this initiative province-wide, pioneering harmonized EVOSS integration, which reflects the province’s commitment to good governance, not just compliance.
“This gathering affirms our collective commitment to ensure that policy is translated into practice, that national reforms are carried through at the local level, and that innovation is anchored on good governance,” he said.*
